Quail Hollow in Lebanon Receives $1 Million to Expand

New Hampshire Housing approves funding to add to senior living community

New Hampshire Housing’s Board of Directors recently approved $1 million in federal HOME funding for Green Mountain Development Group to construct an additional building within the Quail Hollow senior living community in Lebanon.

The new building, to be named Quail Ridge, will offer a mix of both affordable and market rate rental units for seniors. It will be the fourth phase of Quail Hollow (http://www.summitpmg.com/communities/quail-hollow-senior-living/ ), which provides optional on site supportive services to its residents.

In addition to this latest round of funding, Quail Ridge will leverage private investment for affordable housing construction through the sale of federal Housing Tax Credits. The Housing Tax Credit program has a proven track record of creating effective public-private partnerships, boosting economic activity by creating jobs, and reducing the need for direct public subsidies.

“We are very excited to be able to provide additional secure, safe and affordable housing and services to seniors with a range of incomes with the help of New Hampshire Housing,” said John Giebink, a co-owner of Green Mountain Development Group. “Quail Ridge, phase four of Quail Hollow, will enhance the character of and build upon the existing community’s resounding success. By dealing pro-actively and responsibly with health and wellness issues, Quail Ridge will promote lasting independent living, wellness and enthusiasm for life – the basic principles of living at Quail Hollow.”

A recent housing needs study by New Hampshire Housing (http://www.nhhfa.org/housing-data-needs.cfm) shows that most seniors in the state have a strong preference to age in place.

“Giving Upper Valley seniors a safe, affordable housing option in their community that also provides on-site services makes it easier for them to age close to home,” said Dean Christon, Executive Director of New Hampshire Housing. “Quail Ridge is an important expansion of a vibrant place to live. We’re pleased to be able to support this project and create more opportunities for seniors to live independently.”
